Use the plywood and props you already own before you buy more
Book the ply and props (jacks) that come back each time a slab is struck, and everyone sees what the yard and every site hold. Fill a site’s request by transfer first, and raise the LPO only for what is still missing.
Three places formwork money leaks
- 01Heard on site
“Ply is a different price every week, and we never know who’s cheapest.”
Know what you usually pay before you accept a quote, then split the order
Each item’s price history shows what you’ve paid on past LPOs, your average and the last price paid, so you can see at a glance when a quote is above what you usually pay. Send one RFQ to several timber yards, compare their prices line by line with the cheapest marked, and award each line to the yard you pick, as separate LPOs.
Saves money|You stop paying whatever the first yard on the phone asks.
- 02Heard on site
“The DN says 400 sheets, 380 turned up, and the invoice still bills the full 400.”
Count at the gate, and hold the invoice until it matches
The foreman books received, short and rejected sheets on the phone, with a photo of the broken ones. AI reads the yard’s invoice, the 3-way match flags the line that doesn’t agree, and the whole invoice is held until it’s sorted.
Saves money|Sheets that never arrived, or arrived broken, don’t get paid for.
- 03Heard on site
“The pour is tomorrow and the PM hasn’t signed the request. He’s on another site.”
Pour-day requests approved from any site, on the phone
The site raises a requisition with a needed-by date. Above your amount limit it goes to the site engineer and then the PM, who approve on their phones, and the calendar shows the LPO’s expected date next to the needed-by date.
Saves hours|Approval takes minutes instead of a day, and the formwork carpenters aren’t left waiting on pour day.

Questions
We’re a formwork contractor with a yard and several sites. Can each one keep its own stock?
Yes. Set the yard and each site up as a store. Every transfer, issue and return of ply, whitewood, props and column forms is logged, so before anyone orders more they can see what the other stores already hold.
Do LPOs and invoices show UAE VAT?
Yes. VAT appears on each document, at 5% in the UAE, and petty-cash receipts for nails, oil or tie rods from the shop next to site keep their VAT amount on file, coded to the project.
We run on Excel and WhatsApp today. Do we have to switch everything at once?
No. Start with the yard and one site. Record transfers and deliveries there first, and add the other sites when the team is ready.
