Check every cable quote against what you actually paid

materialpro keeps the price of every LPO you place, so the price history for a cable, conduit or light fitting shows the last price you paid and your average. Ask several traders, line their prices up side by side with your usual price in hand, and you can tell when a quote is above what you normally pay. Then turn the cheapest into the LPO.

Three old problems

Three places electrical subcontractors lose money

  1. 01Heard on site

“The drum was short, the DN got signed, and nobody noticed until we pulled the cable.”

Receive drums by the metres measured, not the label

The storekeeper books the delivery on the phone against the LPO, and AI reads the delivery note. A short quantity stays open on the LPO, and a wrong size is rejected with a reason and a photo.

Saves money|You don’t pay for metres that never came or a size you never ordered.

  2. 02Heard on site

“We had spare wire sitting at the other site. Found out after we’d bought new.”

Move spare stock between sites before you buy

Every site store’s wire rolls, drum ends, cable tray, trunking, breakers and DBs are on record. Before raising an LPO you see what the other sites hold, transfer it, and buy only the gap.

Saves money|Spare stock gets used instead of buying the same cable twice.

  3. 03Heard on site

“The foreman paid cash at the electrical shop, and the receipt went missing.”

Photograph the shop receipt and code it to the job

The foreman photographs the till slip on his phone. AI reads the amount and the VAT, and he picks the cost code. One click in the office books it, and that code’s committed spend against its estimate updates.

Saves hours|No month-end receipt hunt, and every dirham sits on the right job.

One month, added up

Hours and money back, added up over a month

Cable quotes, delivery notes, every site’s stock and shop receipts sit in one place, instead of spreadsheets and WhatsApp groups. Here is a sample month.

Questions

Our traders send DNs and invoices as PDFs or phone photos. Can the system read them?

Yes. AI reads the items, quantities and prices off the delivery note or invoice. The invoice is then matched line by line against the LPO and what was received, and if a line doesn’t match, the whole invoice is held for review before payment.

Does it handle UAE VAT on LPOs, invoices and receipts?

Yes. VAT is shown on each document separately from the net amount, so the 5% on an LPO, an invoice or a shop receipt is always visible.

We run several sites on spreadsheets and WhatsApp today. Do we have to move everything at once?

No. Start with one site and its store. Each site you add keeps its own stock, and every transfer between sites is recorded as it happens.

Is it only for cable, or for everything an electrical contractor buys?

Everything. Conduit (PVC and GI), cable tray and trunking, light fittings, switches and sockets, breakers and DBs each get their own price history, quotes, LPOs, receiving and stock at every site. If you also take on ELV work such as CCTV and data cabling, those materials go through the same LPOs and stores.
